Drones

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PURCHASE OR PLANNED OPERATION OF DRONES IS COMPLEX AND REQUIRES ADDITIONAL LEAD TIME COMPARED TO ROUTINE PURCHASES.

ANY OPERATION OF DRONES RELATED TO USF BUSINESS MUST FOLLOW USF DRONE POLICY

Drone Purchase Procedure:

1. Prior to obtaining a quote for drone purchase or drone services, read and famliarize yourself with USF's Drone Use Policy
2. Complete the appropriate Drone Use Form and have it signed by an authorized member of Environmental Health and Safety.
3. Ensure that the supplier or manufacturer you intend to use meets all security requirements per the most current revision of RULE 60GG-2.0075. The following is a list of approved suppliers who have been deemed to meet these requirements:

       • Altavian
       • Teal Drones
       • Vantage Robotics
4. Even if not required by the supplier, consider a signed agreement for the fabrication or purchase of drones since the scope of work can be complex and financial investment high.  
5. The Drone Use Form along with the Quote should be submitted with any Contract or Requisition request form.
6. Drones are subject to the same competition requirements as other commodities.
