Child Welfare Training and Education
What We Do
USF provides comprehensive child welfare training services and supports to employees working for the local system of care, Eckerd Youth Alternatives d/b/a Eckerd Connects (ECA) and contracted providers working within Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties (DCF Circuits 6 & 13). These services consist of curriculum development, child protection professional certification training, certification preparation, resources development and tracking with the Florida Certification Board, job coaching, case work practice sessions, field training, and in-service trainings for staff and supervisors. This innovative team of professionals has over 200 years of child welfare experience they are putting to work in our community to make this important work less traumatic, more innovative, and ultimately better for those it serves.
