Dear Coverdell Fellows Applicants:

Dean Govindan Parayil

We are very pleased that the Patel College of Global Sustainability at the University of South Florida has continued to be part of the prestigious Peace Corps’ Coverdell Fellows program. This prestigious designation allows us to recruit the brightest and most accomplished Returning Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs). Since 2017, our program has been providing these scholars with world-class academic, research and community service opportunities right here in our local communities.

Your admission into our MA or MS program in Global Sustainability can be the beginning of a successful career in the field of sustainability. The Patel College focuses on four main tenets: People, Planet, Profit, and Purpose. This is complimented by our proven experience in addressing these important issues. Our faculty and staff look forward to working with you to achieve your goals right here in Tampa Bay area and beyond. At the end of the graduate program, our Coverdell Fellows will perform their internships in underserved US communities. This will serve and empower our communities to achieve their goals as you accomplish your own ambitions. Together, we will help make our world more peaceful and sustainable.

As you complete your application for our Master's degree program in Global Sustainability, please be certain to include the additional Coverdell essay which is required for consideration and selection for our Coverdell Fellowship Program. Should you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Mr. Randall Pape, Assistant Director of Academic Services and Peace Corps Coverdell Program Coordinator at rpape@usf.edu.

We are excited about your future in our program!
