Non-Degree Admission

Transient & Visiting Students

Transient and Visiting student status allows enrolled degree-seeking students to take approved courses for credit that are not offered at their home institution.

Incoming Students (USF is not your Home Institution)

USF welcomes students from other institutions to enroll on a term by term basis!

Transient Students:

Students who are enrolled at a Florida public institution are considered Transient Students and must complete the Florida Shines Transient Student Application. Once the application is completed, it will be automatically sent within three business days to your advisor/college office and to the Office of the Registrar.

ENROLLMENT:
  1. Check your registration appointment time in OASIS at MyUSF.  All non-degree students have the same assigned appointment day.

  2. Search for courses using the online Dynamic Schedule search.  A video tutorial is available for tips on using the tool.

  3. Register for classes in OASIS at MyUSF on or after your appointment time but before the end of the Drop/Add period.

  4. Errors during registration?
    • Pre- or co-requisite errors: email nondegree@usf.edu with your university ID number (U#), the course prefix and course number (e.g. ENC 1101). The academic advisor’s permission in the Florida Shines application will serve as approval that all course requisites have been met and a permit to register will be issued upon email request.
    • Other registration errors: visit the Course Permits page for further instruction.

Visiting Students

Students enrolled at a private Florida college or university, or a private or public institution outside of Florida, are considered Visiting Students.
