International Transfer Dates and Deadlines

International applicants living outside the U.S. may apply up to one year prior to the desired term of entry. Additional time is usually required for submission of academic documents, evaluation, and immigration related matters. I-20 issuance for obtaining a student visa must be completed at least 30 days prior to the beginning of the semester.

Here is a good rule of thumb on when to apply as a transfer student:

• If you are currently enrolled at another college or university: apply no more than 90 days before your final grades will be posted for the current semester. (e.g., if your final semester grades will be posted on June 1, apply after March 1 for transfer admission to USF.)
• If you are not currently enrolled at another college or university: apply as soon as you are ready with all required documents needed for an admissions decision.

Application Deadlines for:

International Transfer Students

1. Summer 2024 Start

   1. Application Opens

      August 1

      Summer/fall application opens.

   2. Application Deadline

      March 1

      Submit your application by March 1 to be considered for Summer admission.

   3. Application Completion Deadline

      March 15

      Submit all required documents to USF by March 15 to be considered for Summer admission.

   4. I-20 Submission Deadline - Summer A & C

      April 12

      If you intend on taking classes during the Summer A & C session, you must submit your I-20 no later than April 12 (one month prior to the start of classes).

   5. Summer A & C Classes Begin

      May 13

      Classes begin on May 13 for students taking Summer A & C courses.

   6. I-20 Submission Deadline - Summer B

      May 23

      If you intend on taking classes during the Summer B session, you must submit your I-20 no later than May 23 (one month prior to the start of classes).

   7. Summer B Classes Begin

      June 24

      Classes begin on June 24 for students taking Summer B courses.

   1. Application Opens

      August 1

      Summer/fall application opens.

   2. Application Deadline

      June 1

      Submit your application by June 1 to be considered for Fall admission.

   3. Application Completion Deadline

      June 15

      Submit all required documents to USF by June 15 to be considered for Fall admission.

   4. I-20 Submission Deadline - Fall

      July 25

      If you intend on taking classes during the Fall semester, you must submit your I-20 no later than July 25 (one month prior to the start of classes).

   5. Fall Semester Begins

      August 26

      Students starting in the Fall semester will begin classes the week of August 26.
