USF kicks off fall semester
The 2021-2022 school year will be filled with “firsts” for more USF students than a typical year. Not only will university freshmen experience campus life for the first time, but so will thousands of returning students. This is the USF Tampa, St. Petersburg and Sarasota-Manatee campuses’ first semester to be fully operational since August 2019.

USF researchers have launched a social media campaign inviting citizen scientists to upload images of mosquitoes found in the Tampa Bay region to the iNaturalist platform, a smartphone app. The app will automatically identify disease-carrying species such as Aedes aegypti, a known transmitter of Zika, dengue and yellow fever.
