The Department of Child and Family Studies rounded up gratitude — and plenty of Western flair — at its annual fall luncheon on Nov. 21.

Faculty and staff swapped their everyday attire for cowboy hats and boots as they gathered for barbeque, an ice-breaker game and awards recognizing individuals and groups for their contributions to the department’s success.

HIPPY team performs a line dance

The HIPPY program team performed a line dance to the song Boots on the Ground.

The luncheon offered a chance to reflect on the year’s achievements, celebrate the people behind the work and enjoy a little time on the figurative open range together. The Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program stole the show with a crowd-pleasing line dance to Boots on the Ground.
