Dasha Rhodes, Ph.D., LMSW, is an Assistant Professor in the USF School of Social Work. She received her MSW (‘14) from the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work and her Ph.D. (’21) from Morgan State University School of Social Work.

Dr. Rhodes’ primary research interest considers the effects of policing on the community. She is specifically interested in examining the mental health of Black Americans who experienced or witnessed a police encounter and the impact of social work in policing. She has worked on research projects that included police and community engagement efforts in Baltimore City, community evaluation of proposed police technology, and police social workers.

Further, Dr. Rhodes is a Licensed Master Social Worker in Texas and has worked as a hospice social worker. She is a former recipient of the Council of Social Work Education Minority Fellow Program and Frederick Douglass Institute Teaching Fellow. She serves as a board member for The Institute for Civility in Government, a non-profit agency that encourages the reduction of polarization in the political process in public and private sectors through respect and teaching.
