Dr. Vickie A. Lynn is the Chair of the Face-to-Face MSW Program and Associate Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida School of Social Work. She is also a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern (RCSW-I). Her work bridges social work education, clinical practice, public health, HIV research, interprofessional education, and simulation-based learning.
Dr. Lynn’s scholarship focuses on simulation research in social work education, with particular attention to artificial intelligence, virtual clinical simulation, competency-based assessment, and the preparation of MSW students for ethical, culturally responsive, and clinically grounded practice. Her recent work examines how emerging technologies can strengthen student learning, clinical judgment, reflective practice, and readiness for field and professional practice.
Dr. Lynn also continues to engage in HIV-related research and community-informed scholarship, with a focus on stigma, language, terminology, health communication, and the ways words shape care, identity, and service engagement. Her HIV scholarship is grounded in collaboration with community partners and reflects a commitment to reducing stigma, advancing person-centered language, and improving health and social service delivery for people living with and affected by HIV.
With more than a decade of teaching experience, Dr. Lynn is committed to creating collaborative, supportive, and practice-informed learning environments. Her teaching and research interests include simulation-based education, technology-enhanced learning, interprofessional training, integrated care, behavioral health workforce development, HIV-related stigma, and health and social service delivery.
At USF Health, Dr. Lynn is actively engaged in interprofessional education initiatives, including Interprofessional Education Day, where students from multiple health disciplines come together to strengthen teamwork, communication, and collaborative problem-solving.
Across her teaching, research, clinical training, and leadership roles, Dr. Lynn’s work reflects a commitment to preparing future social workers who are ethical, reflective, technologically informed, and ready to respond to the complex needs of individuals, families, and communities.
