Dean Philippidis Discusses Sustainability at the Greek Parliament
During his recent sabbatical at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece, Dean George Philippidis was invited to visit the Greek Parliament by Dr. Dionysia Avgerinopoulou, elected member of the parliament and Special Envoy for the Ocean to the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to discuss ocean and agricultural sustainability.

PCGS Students stepped outside the classroom and into TampaWell Food Pharmacy and Community Garden to explore how food access, community health, and sustainable agriculture comes together. Led by PCGS faculty member Dr. Joseph Dorsey, the field trip gave students working on projects connected to TampaWell an opportunity to experience the site firsthand.

The Patel College of Global Sustainability welcomed Dr. Feng Hao, associate professor at the University of South Florida, for a Sustainability Speaker Series exploring climate challenges from a social science perspective. Dr. Hao shared findings from his research examining the relationship between economic growth and carbon emissions.

From the Classroom to Ghana: USF Patel College Student Puts Water Sustainability into Practice
USF graduate student Cassidy Ezzi traveled to Ghana to conduct research on water quality, sanitation, and sea-level rise. Working with researchers, she collected and analyzed water samples while examining community challenges. The experience strengthened her understanding of global sustainability and will inform policy recommendations for improving water resilience.
