The University of South Florida was the first educational institution to partner with the VA to create VetSuccess on Campus.  The program began in May of 2009 as a pilot program and has since been codified into law and expanded to 94 campuses across the United States.

VetSuccess on Campus (VSOC) is a VA program that is focused on assisting Veterans, Servicemembers, and Veterans’ dependents with their educational and career goals. Like the name suggests, the VSOC program and services are provided on-campus at the University of South Florida, offering a full-time VA counselor to serve students in need of benefits assistance, career guidance, selecting an educational path, and counseling for adjustment and transition.

Your VetSuccess on Campus Counselor

Jeanine Frederick has over 20 years of experience working with Veterans. She began her career with the VA as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in 1997 and has worked in other roles such as OIF/OEF Coordinator, TBI and Spinal Cord Injury Case Manager, Team Leader, and VetSuccess on Campus Counselor. She is also a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and Licensed Mental Health Counselor.

Jeanine’s knowledge and connections to the VA have proved to be beneficial for Veterans and her compassion is evident in the services she provides each and every day. Jeanine has been the VSOC counselor since 2010 at the University of South Florida. Therefore, she is also well-informed of the resources available on campus to help our Student Veterans. Jeanine welcomes walk-ins, but due to the volume of students on campus, we recommend you contact her directly to make an appointment.
