St. Petersburg campus Accreditation Data

The University of South Florida College of Education is proud to be nationally accredited by NCATE (National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education). In 2013 NCATE became the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). Accreditation reviews take place every seven years. Accreditation is a voluntary process designed to ensure high-quality practices through a rigorous evaluation process consisting of self-evaluation, on-site accreditation evaluators and ongoing assessment.

Satisfaction Surveys

The College administers satisfaction surveys to completers and employers each year as the first year of employment is completed. Using the employment data provided by the Florida Department of Education, the College sends surveys electronically to completers and employers. ITP and Education Leadership completers and employers are asked to provide input on how well the Unit programs prepare completers based on the FEAPs or FPLS expectations.

The results of these surveys are shared with program representatives to the College Assessment Committee. Survey results, combined with all data gathered for assessment, are used to indicate strengths and weaknesses across the various programs of study. The programs use this data to adjust instruction and coursework as necessary to ensure completers graduate with the skills and competencies necessary to positively impact P-12 student learning.

*Note: 2015 – 2016 Survey data (reported in 2016-2017) from program completers and partnering school districts - Completers were surveyed regarding their level of satisfaction with their preparation. However, a computer error resulted in some responses not being recorded (i.e., what looked like a 19% rate of return for Ed Leadership completers ended up being zero). The College is correcting the problem and reaching out for additional input.
