Professor Lingling Fan, from the USF Department of Electrical Engineering, has been awarded the prestigious 2025 IEEE PES Wanda Reder Pioneer in Power Award. This significant award acknowledges Professor Fan's exceptional "leadership in technical innovations of power grid stability analysis and dedicated services to IEEE PES publications and education". Furthermore, the award recognizes her dedicated and extensive services to the publications and educational initiatives of the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES).
ABOUT THE IEEE PES 2025 AWARD
The IEEE PES Wanda Reder Pioneer in Power Award seeks to recognize a deserving female in the field of power engineering. The award is intended to provide visibility to the awardee’s efforts, accomplishments and future potential while empowering her to be an inspiration and role model for other women in the industry.
Prior to this international recognition, Professor Fan received the Energy Systems Integration Group (ESIG) 2024 Excellence Award. This previous accolade celebrated her valuable contributions to the detailed "analysis of power system dynamics and the study of system oscillations, [particularly in modern power systems that increasingly] incorporate inverter-based resources," such as solar and wind energy.
