Honors Benefits

Students in the Judy Genshaft Honors College benefit from learning in small courses that address big topics in discussion-based, not lecture-based, classrooms. You'll find yourself engaged in intense conversations with respected faculty members. Some have served as CEOs, worked for NASA, practiced medicine, and delivered expert testimony in front of Congress, among other accomplishments. These faculty members lead diverse groups of students in relevant conversations that address the global and multidisciplinary nature of twenty-first century problems. Classes are made up of students from a variety of different majors who bring unique and creative views to the classroom. In addition to in-class learning opportunities, Honors students are also offered rich professional, cultural, and recreational learning opportunities in the Tampa Bay area.

Every Judy Genshaft Honors College student has the opportunity to:

  • Learn in small classes that address big problems
  • Participate in life-changing study abroad experiences
  • Conduct research that creates, not just consumes, knowledge
  • Register for classes on the first day of registration (regardless of major or year)
  • Thrive in a close-knit community of diverse scholars
