USF Wilcox Scholars Build Leadership Skills Through Summer Experiences

This summer, USF Wilcox Scholars in the Judy Genshaft Honors College pursued internships, study abroad experiences, research opportunities, and fellowships across the United States and abroad. Astronauts to Test USF Students’ Wound-Healing Research Aboard the International Space Station
To improve wound care in microgravity, a team of USF undergraduate students developed a wound-healing hydrogel that will soon be tested in space. Their project is scheduled to launch from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center aboard the SpaceX CRS-35 mission, which will deliver supplies to the International Space Station as part of the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program.

Judy Genshaft Honors College alum Laura Badertscher launched her Swiss tour guide company with the goal of connecting North American tourists with Switzerland’s unique landscapes and history. Drawing from her USF experience and background as a Swiss American, she leads immersive tours, bridging the two cultures.
