USF Student Advances to Global Finals of Red Bull Basement Competition

Sahasra Upputuru represented the University of South Florida at the Red Bull Basement World Final where she competed for $100,000 in start-up funding after placing among the top three competitors in the United States with her cybersecurity application, SafeStep Secure.

Dedicated to developing future leaders in public service, the Wilcox Scholars Program at the USF Judy Genshaft Honors College provides students with opportunities to explore policy, civic engagement, and global issues. This spring, the program welcomed six driven first-year students who demonstrate a commitment to serving their communities and making the most of their Honors experience.
