Honors Scholarships

The Judy Genshaft Honors College awards competitive scholarships to its new and continuing students.

AVAILABLE SCHOLARSHIPS

All Judy Genshaft Honors College students receive $2,000 in scholarships once they complete each of the three requirement areas (community engagement, global experience, academics). This award is paid in three installments during the students' academic career:

Each of the three scholarships are paid out once and are nonrenewable.

DEADLINES AND PAYOUTS

To become eligible for a scholarship payment, students must complete the requirement and submit the related form by the 30th day of each term to be paid in that term.

For the 2020-2021 academic year, the deadlines to submit honors scholarship forms are Sept. 25, 2020 (to receive your scholarship during Fall 2020) and Feb. 12, 2021 (to receive your scholarship during Spring 2021).

  • Any forms received after the deadline will be paid out in the following term.
  • Honors Curriculum scholarships are awarded in Fall and Spring semesters only.
  • The Judy Genshaft Honors College does not pay out scholarships in Summer terms.
  • The Judy Genshaft Honors College does not pay out scholarships after students have graduated.

Students should plan to complete all requirements prior to their final semester, especially if they anticipate a Summer graduation.

OTHER SCHOLARSHIPS

Most Judy Genshaft Honors College students also qualify for generous travel scholarships to fund study abroad opportunities. These scholarships are distributed based on specfic program, financial need, and available funding.

In addition, thanks to the generosity of many donors, there are more than 30 other competitive scholarships, awarded to over 150 recipients, for which only Judy Genshaft Honors College students can apply. Students may apply for these honors-specific awards as well as general USF scholarships. These applications typically open in November and are due in January for new students and April for continuing students.

Qualified incoming students will also be able to apply for the prestigious Genshaft Global Presidential Scholarship, a merit-based $10,000 study abroad award.

Students can also visit the Office of National Scholarships for more information about competitive academic awards.
