Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU)
The Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program is a National Science Foundation (NSF) program that supports active research participation by undergraduate students in research areas funded by the NSF.
USF is an active participant in the REU program offering undergraduate students opportunities to participate in research sponsored by the NSF. These opportunities are hosted by individual departments and students should contact and apply through these departments directly.
In addition to the list of active and inactive REU's provided below, the NSF provides a running list of all current, active REU sites here.
The following list is not exhaustive. If you do not see your department or discipline represented on our list, be sure to look through your departments' websites and contacts for information on possible REUs.
REU Opportunities Beyond USF
It's actually fairly common to "travel" to join an REU--think of it like study abroad, but with a research focus. This list will give you some ideas of external REUs you could apply to, and try to join.
