Statement of Intent: The Education Abroad Office administers several highly competitive partial study abroad
scholarships. The University of South Florida hopes to send a diverse representation
of its student body overseas to prepare them for an increasingly global society. Please
argue why you should receive one of these awards. In your essay please include: 1) How
your participation on your selected study abroad program will help you achieve your
personal, academic, and professional goals. 2) Factors or extenuating circumstances
affecting your ability to fund your program. 3) What makes you a unique candidate
for this award.
Some students are experiencing difficulties accessing the application in AwardSpring.
Upon receiving applications in either system (AwardSpring or via email) Education
Abroad will confirm participation and award criteria with the Global Citizens Project
before reviewing applications.
USF undergraduate students who are pursuing or have earned the Global Citizen Award are eligible to apply for study abroad scholarship opportunities through Education Abroad's Global Explorers Travel Award.
Please Note:
- Students must submit their application for study abroad, be accepted to the program of their choice AND commit (deposit paid) to the program.
- Students from any major, as well as those who are US citizens or international students, are eligible to apply for scholarships.
- One of the primary criteria used to make scholarship award decisions is student progress towards completing the Global Citizen Award. Students who have completed the award OR the greatest number of event reflections, pre-approval assignments, and reflection assignments and who have provided high-quality responses in these assignments will be among the most competitive applicants.
