Research on Your Transcript


This course provides recognition for participation in the high-impact educational practice of research which has been found to benefit students from varied backgrounds (AAC&U LEAP). The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) defines this as follows: an inquiry or investigation conducted by an undergraduate student that makes an original intellectual or creative contribution to the discipline.

To obtain a permit to register for the course, the following criteria must be met:

  • Your faculty mentor sponsors the research activity (faculty must have clinical, joint, regular, research, or visiting faculty appointment at USF).
  • You are enrolled in at least one separate credit-bearing course during semester of enrollment.
  • You engage in research activity for minimum of 5 hours each week.
  • Your research activity occurs in the semester the permit is requested.

Fall 2019 requests are now closed. Spring 2020 permit and attribute requests will be available a week prior to the start of the semester.
