How German Art Relates to Institutions of Power

As a music major, I have played pieces by German composers in the past and it was interesting to see where the music actually came from. I learned how much I love German music in particular.

Since I am studying abroad in Germany in May, I will be able to connect more to the culture of the region. In addition, I will have a further background of music history to teach future students.

It is a way to approach a topic you are curious about without worrying about pleasing a specific professor. You get to guide your own research and decide what to cover yourself.

It is a really good way to learn about something that either doesn't fit your major or isn't covered as in depth as you would like. Guiding your own research is exciting.
