The University of South Florida offers more than 100 graduate certificates that can be completed online, in person or in a hybrid fashion. They are designed to provide you with valuable educational experience in a more accessible, focused format than traditional graduate degree programs.
A graduate certificate is a specialized graduate-level credential reflecting knowledge of the most up-to-date research in a specific field. Once completed, it will be documented on your official USF transcripts and a certificate of completion will be awarded to you.
Graduate certificates generally take one-two years to complete and can even be completed in as little as one semester, depending on course load per semester and course schedule offerings. You may also be able to transfer up to 12 credits into one of USF’s graduate degree programs; contact your program advisor to learn more. Some certificates can be used to meet some of the requirements of a graduate program, depending on the policies of the degree program and the university. Completion of a certificate does not imply admission to a related graduate degree program.
