Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The College of Marine Science (CMS) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee is charged with creating a plan of self-assessments and actionable goals that are in accordance with the University of South Florida’s Diversity, Inclusion, and Equal Opportunity’s (DIEO) objectives. Committee members represent the college: students, staff, and faculty. The CMS DEI committee focuses on three core areas: faculty and staff (hiring, retention/promotion, policies, training/development); students and alumni (recruitment, retention, policies, training/orientation); and Human Resources (HR) (access to resources, policies, and programmatic barriers). The committee recommends actions to be taken by the college and follows up to ensure actions are appropriate in their implementation, and that results are positive for the college, the university, and the community.
