ABOUT MY RESEARCH

Hi, I’m Sarah and I’m pursuing my master’s degree under Dr. Hu’s Optical Oceanography Lab. My research will focus on satellite remote sensing of herring spawning and practical application in the fisheries industry.

WHY USF CMS?

I was initially attracted to USF’s College of Marine Science for the proximity to the coast and the array of research vessels providing students with unparalleled opportunity to engage in field work. I look forward to working under and learning from world renounced researchers. I appreciate the interdisciplinary aspect of the program and the emphasis on learning the basics of oceanography before delving into specialties.
