Anne Nobrega’s passion for creativity and design is clearly displayed in the USF-inspired decals decorating the FAO building on the Tampa campus. “I wanted to bring a bit of the USF spirit to the design itself, which is why I emphasized the bull in the designs,” Nobrega says. “I’m proud to be a Bull.”

Originally from Brazil, Nobrega is currently in her final semester as an Industrial Engineering student. “My brother studied here, so I already knew USF was a great university when I applied,” she notes. “It was my first choice.”

Her talents on campus have extended to notable opportunities for post-graduation. “I’ll be working for Chobani in the IT department for about a year,” Nobrega says. “And will return to Brazil to take care of my parents’ company as chief marketing officer.” Founded in 2022, Cheese Bites is a Brazilian food brand with Nobrega herself as a co-founder.

“We’ve been lucky to have three student designers,” says Dr. Aaron Nichols, Director of Research and Engagement for University Communications and Marketing. “It’s nice to be able to incorporate student work into the campus environment.” Nobrega has worked with the two other student designers, Eva Davis and Teodora Tavares, on other projects. Their work is displayed in numerous environmental graphic design projects around campus.

As an international student, Nobrega has a connection to the building through the Global Student Center, housed on the first floor of FAO. The USF Global Student Center is a dedicated place on the Tampa campus where international students can gather, find resources and support, as well as a sense of community.

The decal is wrapped around the entirety of the FAO building, with a USF Bull, palm leaves, and other details inspired by the Florida landscape. “I really love the environment and the climate here,” Nobrega says. “I wanted to reflect that environment, as well as the nature and the trees on campus.”
