Starting Your Program Online or Hybrid

If you're starting your program online or in a hybrid model, you'll learn with the same teachers, same academic support and same great results as in-person instruction. Below is an overview of what you can expect from our hybrid and online offerings for both the International Year One and Graduate Pathway Programs.

*Synchronous courses are live online meetings during set days and times. If your course has days/times listed, assume you have synchronous online meetings during indicated periods. Asynchronous courses have no day or time requirements. These courses will be in a pre-recorded format that you can view any time.

Hybrid Courses

Hybrid EAP courses are created for students who require a mixture of on-campus and face-to-face classes to meet immigration requirements. Hybrid classes can include an online component of 50-79% of the total hours offered during the semester, both synchronous or asynchronous. The remaining hours are conducted in the classroom. Fully online students are able to be enrolled in hybrid courses if the design of instruction can accommodate.

EAP 1850 and 1851 courses are 6 hours a week and will consist of:

  • 3 hours face-to-face
  • 3 hours asynchronous work
  • Additional teacher-instructor meetings for targeted feedback via MS Teams

Online Courses

Online EAP courses are created for students who do not have any immigration requirements and are not studying in the U.S. The online experience would consist of both synchronous and asynchronous work.

EAP 1850 and 1851 courses are 6 hours a week and will consist of:

  • 3 hours synchronous via MS Teams
  • 3 hours asynchronous work
  • Additional teacher-instructor meetings for targeted feedback via MS Teams
