Rachel Gilmore, MA, LMHC

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Languages in which I conduct therapy: English

My approach to therapy: I am a Queer, White, cisgender woman who is an alumni of USF. My identities have motivated me to provide therapy in a way that is thoughtful, promotes open conversation, and uses humor when appropriate. I enjoy using exercises designed to help you think and put change into action. I enjoy collaborating on your interests and utilizing them as a way to create change and achieve your goals.

My experience providing therapy to students has helped me to connect with a range of concerns, including mental health, life transitions, social skills, acceptance, and identity. I enjoy serving as a guide to students who are looking forward to what’s next by focusing on what can be managed in the now.

My approach to supervision: For supervision, I work within a competency-based framework and help my supervisees utilize evidence-based practice in order to meet their goals.

Professional Affiliations: Suncoast Mental Health Counselors Association

University Committees & Liaison relationships: Liaison for Housing and Residential Life, Hillel at USF, and the Department of Engineering. I am a member of the Counseling Center’s Bright Side Crew and Clinical Services Committee.

A Fun Fact: I am an avid nerd. My nerdiness ranges from my love of sports, to video games, books, and TV shows, and of course, to Dungeons & Dragons. I even host a podcast about one of my favorite video games, Mass Effect.
