Diane Williams
Greetings and Welcome to the USF Counseling Center!

My name is Diane Williams and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have a Master's degree in Social Work from Florida State University and a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama. I am originally from Alabama and come from a culturally rich African American background. I have lived in Florida for over 15 years. I love working with the college student population and enjoy helping students navigate life's challenges both academically, developmentally and personally at this time of transition in their lives.

My approach to therapy is strength based, meaning I take a collaborative approach to helping you tap into and develop your strengths to improve your current coping skills and methods of problem solving. I also integrate Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Family Systems therapy, Mindfulness, DBT Informed Skills, and Person Centered therapy approaches. I seek to help clients see themselves from a different perspective that will ultimately allow for their growth, development and success as a student here at the University of South Florida.

Clinical Interests: My professional interests include grief and loss, anxiety, depression, life skills, multiculturalism, interpersonal communication skills, crisis Intervention, ADHD, mindfulness, suicide prevention, community outreach and development.

Approach to Supervision/Training: Integrated Developmental Model
