My approach to therapy: All my interventions are integrative and driven by the practices of Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I also incorporate some interventions from the good psychiatric management (GPM), mentalization-based therapy (MBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My goal is to provide the best evidence-based treatment possible, adapted to the needs of each client, and determined in a collaborative way. My therapeutic approach is culturally sensitive, as well as trauma-informed if needed. As a psychologist, I desire my clients to achieve improvements and find equilibrium in their life, so they feel empowered. I am caring, considerate and I like to integrate humor in my interventions. My research was conducted in the field of sleep, dreams and nightmares. I worked for 20 years in psychiatry for children and teenagers, as well as in private practice.
My approach to supervision: Supervision of trainees has always been an important part of my practice. I offer developmentally appropriate and supervisee focused guidance, by providing support, knowledge, and collaborative goals setting. I like to address all aspects of the professional identity in supervision, such as skills, strengths, limits, and therapeutic processes in order to achieve confidence and competency.
