Hello and Welcome to the USF Counseling Center!
I am Dr. Patel, but feel free to call me Disha. I am a licensed psychologist and I completed my masters as well as doctorate training at Argosy University, Chicago also known as Illinois School of Professional Psychology. I enjoy working with college students which motivated me to gain experience working in university settings. As a South Asian women, I remember my own journey of navigating an academic environment, the challenges as well as the exciting opportunities to grow/connect with others. Hence, my passion to help students from various backgrounds in their unique journeys at USF.
When I work with a student I make an effort to understand your concerns while considering biological, psychological, and social factors that may impact you. Furthermore, I am interested in exploring how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are impacting you. Afterward, I like to work collaboratively with student to set reasonable goals to improve your well-being. Lastly, I also like to focus on an individual's strengths and resiliency throughout our work together. I am honored that you are considering me to be part of your journey and I look forward to working with you.
