About

Born in Orlando, Florida, Dr. Renee Amboy grew up in a military family, spending portions of her childhood in Japan and the Philippines, where she gained an appreciation for diverse cultures and experiences. As Director of OVS, she provides strategic leadership, develops student-centered programs, strengthens community partnerships, and advocates for military-connected students at the institutional and state legislative levels. The daughter of a U.S. Navy veteran and now his caregiver, Dr. Amboy brings a personal perspective to her advocacy for veterans and military families. She also serves as an Honorary Commander with the 927th Air Refueling Wing at MacDill Air Force Base, assigned to the 927th Force Support Squadron. Dr. Amboy joined USF in 2019 and OVS in 2022. She holds a Doctor of Education, Master of Arts in Adult Education, and Bachelor of General Studies in Gerontology, all from USF. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and her dogs, staying active, and traveling.
