Priscilla Luong, Class of 2017

November 6, 2018

Priscilla graduated from USF with a BS in finance and a minor in economics. In the summer of 2016, she completed a short-term 2-week study abroad with a program called Business in Europe, which was based in the USF St. Pete campus. The trip consisted of company visits in the following cities: Munich and Stuttgart, Germany; London, UK; and Amsterdam, Netherlands. Priscilla got to visit companies such as BMW, Stihl, Mini, and many breweries including Heineken and Paulaner. “One thing I learned that many people regret in their college career is that they didn’t take the opportunity to study abroad," Priscilla reflected. "To be able to say I did and share my experiences creates interest for others in me and starts a conversation. Studying international business also helps one to become more open-minded and accommodating towards students, colleagues, or clients.”

Following graduation, Priscilla worked at T. Rowe Price for a year in Maryland as an associate. Currently, she is a graduate student at George Washington University in the 2-year Global MBA program. Priscilla plans to switch industries from finance and explore other business areas such as consulting by obtaining a dual degree in project management. “My advice for students considering studying abroad is to just do it," said Priscilla. "If you don’t do it, you may never know the impact it would have had on you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and apply for as many scholarships as you qualify for because they’re a lot more accessible than you think.”
