Research & Funding
To further USF’s strategic goal to encourage international engagement and research, USF World offers contributing funds to support select faculty-directed events.
Exeter-USF Research Catalyst Fund
An initiative between the University of Exeter Global Partnerships Office and USF World, the Research Catalyst Fund provides funding up to £8,000 ($11,200) to support collaborative research activity between academics at Exeter and USF. Identified collaborations will receive support for project activities including, but not limited to, faculty exchange, post-graduate student exchanges, joint symposia, or resource sharing.
USF Nexus Initiative
The University of South Florida Nexus Initiative (UNI), administered through the Office of the Provost at USF Tampa, offers tenured/tenure-track and full-time research faculty members the opportunity to collaborate with global, national, industrial, and local community partners in research, scholarly, and innovative efforts with the potential to significantly advance current human understanding and address pressing societal needs.
International Conference Travel Grants
International Travel Grants are designed to support faculty at USF attend major professional meetings and conferences outside the United States. International travel grants are limited to $2,500 per trip and awarded on an annual basis to facilitate faculty participation to give keynote speeches, plenary presentations, or other major addresses, presentations, or performances. Available through USF Research & Innovation.
Finding funding opportunities to do research abroad is often more difficult than researchers initially think. Federal reporting standards are often difficult to adhere to for some overseas collaborators, and most grants are very limited in the areas that they fund. Proposal Development Services
USF Research and Innovation is dedicated to facilitating the growth of large multidisciplinary proposals, identifying funding opportunities, and building teams. The Faculty One-Stop provides USF researchers with quick links to guides and instructions, tools and forms, online training and more, for each phase of the research administration life cycle.
USF Office of Export Controls
The Office of Export Controls at USF was established to help faculty, researchers and staff navigate the complex environment of export regulations. USF is committed to the highest level of compliance with U.S. export control regulations.
