ABOUT MY RESEARCH

My research interests lay perched on the boundary between the chemical and biological cycling of trace metals. In the lab of Dr. Tim Conway, I will investigate the spatial distributions of trace metal concentrations (Fe, Zn, Cd, Mn, Pb, Ni, Cu), and specialize in the high-resolution analysis of isotopic ratios (Fe, Zn, Cd, Ni, Cu) in the Southern Ocean. These analyses are important because they identify how, and where, trace metal elements enter and exit the marine environment; therefore, the practice chemically demystifies unexplored details in primary production and carbon cycling.

WHY USF CMS?

I chose CMS to work alongside their renowned trace metal oceanographers and join a community of scholars truly devoted to student success.
