ABOUT MY RESEARCH

Under the advisement of Dr. Cameron Ainsworth, I am pursuing my PhD in the Marine Resource Assessment program. I am interested in a career in ecosystem-based management geared towards fisheries management and marine and coastal conservation. As the negative effects of population growth and climate change increase, fishing pressures rise and living marine resources are increasingly threatened.

My research interests encompass the assessment and sustainable development of these marine resources. During my time at USF, I look forward to using the Atlantis ecosystem model to assess various fishery management strategies within the Gulf of Mexico.

WHY USF CMS?

I decided to attend the College of Marine Science because of all the potential the USF and St. Pete have to offer. I was drawn to the collaborative research promoted between peers, faculty, and external researchers. Furthermore, I was intrigued by the rich scientific community located in St. Pete that would contribute to networking and research opportunities in the future. Lastly, I loved the idea of living in a beautiful, green city that was rich in culture and arts, such as St. Pete!
