Getting Your Visa

Form I-20 and DS-2019

In order to be issued an I-20 or DS-2019, you must show a valid passport and proof of liquid funds. All documentation is submitted via iStart. You will receive an email once your document is created. The document will be mailed directly to you as you must have the original I-20 or DS-2019 for your visa appointment. Please check your address for accuracy to ensure the delivery of your document.

SEVIS (I-901) Fee

You must pay the SEVIS (I-901) fee corresponding with the SEVIS ID (N#) listed on your document. Go to www.fmjfee.com and select Pay I-901 Fee. This fee must be paid prior to your visa appointment. Save a copy of your confirmation and retain for your records.

Applying for your Non-Immigrant Visa

You can apply for a US visa at any embassy or consulate outside the US. You will need to bring the following to your appointment: passport, I-20 or DS-2019, financial documents, SEVIS (I-901) fee payment confirmation, and admission letter. NOTE: Citizens of Canada and Bermuda do not need a visa stamp. At the US Port of Entry you should provide your passport, I-20, and SEVIS Fee payment confirmation (I-901) to apply for entry to the US.
