The Honors College partners with a number of organizations in the Tampa Bay area and beyond. These partnerships allow students to to research, volunteer, and learn in the community.
Tampa Museum of Art
The Honors College partners with the Tampa Museum of Art to offer research opportunities to students in many areas, including psychology, pre-med, art, and education, as well as other majors. In Fall 2015, the Museum established a program specifically geared toward patients and their care partners, offering a community program opportunity. Our students play an integral role in this program.
Gulf Beaches Historical Museum/St. Pete Beach
In partnership with the St. Pete Beach Public Library and the Gulf Beaches Historical Museum, Honors College students are working to digitize and add to the collection of the Gulf Beaches Historical Museum, design exhibits that highlight the experiences of historically underrepresented populations, and make history accessible by contributing to the Pinellas Memory online archive.
City of Dunedin
Through the Community Sustainability Partnership Program, Honors College students provided valuable assistance to the city of Dunedin in developing climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies. Following intensive research and on-the-ground data collection, students designed and constructed a board game featuring realistic predictions, responses, and solutions to sea level rise as a creative means of communicating with the public about the
