Overview

Join Recreation & Wellness for a 5K & Fun Run under the stars! Recreation & Wellness is hosting the annual Starlight Stampede 5K & Fun Run! This year features a new and improved course: starting at Magnolia Fields, participants will run through the heart of campus, the MLK Plaza, around Castor Beach, up to the FIT, and across Holly Drive.

You'll get to see the best parts of campus all in one run!

Date & Time

The Starlight Stampede will take place on Thursday, October 19. The race will start promptly at 9:00pm and end once the last runners make it! We recommend arriving early for signing in and a warm up! 

Couch to 5K Training Program

Not sure where to start when preparing for a 5K? Not to worry! Our Fitness Team will send out weekly plans to set you up for success. This is a 5-week program intended to prepare you for the 5K or simply just to get you into running.  Sign up for these weekly training plan here!

Glow sticks will be provided. USFPD, RecWell staff, and signage will be placed throughout the course for safety. Water stations will be placed at Magnolia Fields and by the FIT.

The USF Medical Response Unit will be available to treat injuries.

Giveaways & T-shirts

If you are interested in receiving a Starlight Stampede T-shirt, please register and pay the $6 entrance fee by September 22 at 11:59pm. Runners who purchase the shirt will receive their shirt at the conclusion of the race. There will be FREE stickers handed out as well! The Tampa Bay Lightning Marketing Team will be there handing out giveaways as well!
