Group Fitness Instructor Training (GFIT)
Course Dates: September 7th through October 12th; Fridays, 12pm - 3pm
The group fitness instructor training course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully complete a national certification exam and become a group fitness instructor. Topics include exercise physiology, anatomy, nutrition, techniques for cueing and instruction, and music awareness. Participants will receive practical experience in group instruction and feedback through a mentorship program. Prior teaching experience is not necessary, but participation in a variety of group fitness formats is required. Certification exam is not included in the cost of this course.
Sessions will meet Fridays 12:00pm-3:00pm. Interested participants must attend the mandatory information session on Friday, 9/31 at 12:00 pm

NETA Barre Connect Specialty Certification
September 15th, 8:00am-5:00pm
In this 1-day, NETA Specialty Certification you will learn the fundamentals necessary to design safe and effective multi-level Barre Connect classes. Leave with a deep understanding of the science, technique, and 4 main components behind Barre Connect. Discover how to connect the components of Ballet & Dance Technique, Yoga Postures, Functional Strength Exercises, and Cardiovascular Training to create a FUN, total body workout.
NETA Indoor Group Cycling Specialty Certification
September 16th, 8:00am - 5:00pm
NETA's Indoor Group Cycling specialty certification covers all the basics of teaching cycling classes, including setting up the room, managing a variety of situations and the many body positions for a safe but challenging ride. Other key topics include contra-indications, terminology, class formatting, music selection and cuing. We've also added a special section on helping individuals determine the proper level of exercise intensity to meet their goals. Includes free study guide.
Personal Training Prep (PT Prep)
Course Dates: October 12th through November 16th; Fridays, 12pm - 2pm
If you are passionate about pursuing a career in health and fitness, we have a course for you. Learn the knowledge and skills necessary to become a certified personal trainer! This course will provide both lecture style and practical experience to prepare you for a nationally recognized certification exam. Topics include: basic and functional anatomy, applied exercise physiology, program design principles, form and technique instruction, client interaction and nutritional concepts. Practical sessions will apply concepts covered in the lecture and serve to prepare students to work one-on-one with clients. Sessions will meet Fridays from 12pm - 2pm.

NETA Pilates Mat Specialty Certification
October 13th & 14th, 8:00am - 2:00pm
Each year, the popularity of Pilates grows as more people become aware of the incredible benefits of this unique form of exercise. If you always wanted to learn how to teach Pilates but never knew where to learn the tools necessary to be an effective and knowledgeable instructor, NETA has the answer.
This specialty workshop not only introduces the fundamental principles of Pilates, but teaches you how to apply them through 33 different exercises. In addition to the fundamental principles of core stabilization and posture alignment as they apply to basic Pilates mat work, you'll also learn effective ways of cuing, correcting form and applying modifications.
NETA Yoga Foundations Specialty Certification
November 10th & 11th, 8:00am - 6:00pm
Our intensive, two-day Yoga Foundations workshop provides hands-on experience in teaching beginner yoga formats through a breakdown of 20 poses focused on alignment, safety, variations and breathing techniques. In addition to the basics of class formatting, you'll discuss yoga history through exploration of the 8 limbs, learn the anatomy and physiology of the nervous and respiratory systems, as well as discover ways to encourage and motivate your participants through verbal refinements and inclusive cuing. This certification will provide two sample beginning yoga classes as well as time for practice under the supervision of an experienced yoga teacher.
*Yoga Foundations can be taken as a stand-alone certification to teach yoga classes and/or can be taken as the first course working toward the advanced 200 Hour Yoga Program.
