Trainings & Certifications
The process to become a personal trainer or group fitness instructor is a rewarding experience but requires patience, time, and commitment. For Spring 2021, we have enhanced our programs to better align that commitment against our goals of developing the highest caliber of fitness professionals.
Beginning in Spring 2021, we require all interested individuals to submit an application before being admitted to the training(s). We expect a competitive field with only ten (10) applicants being accepted into each program. Trainings are open to students and non-students.
Completing our training -- and obtaining the respective certification -- does not guarantee employment with USF's Recreation & Wellness team. You will be required to interview for our open positions.
If you have any questions, please email one of our Fitness Coordinators:

We are prepared to switch to an alternative course delivery if needed as deemed by the University.
