Program Introduction
Attend an Information Session

Program Advisor: Lauren Chambers
Gain real-world legal experience while living on the Mediterranean coast! Through the Lex Fellowship, you will experience life in Valencia, Spain — a coastal city blending historic culture with modern architecture. Explore beaches, the City of Arts and Sciences, and the birthplace of paella while gaining valuable legal experience.
This is a third-party unique study abroad program that allows you to gain hands-on experience with international law firms, shadow practicing attorneys, and analyze real legal cases. You will also participate in court visits and legal excursions, as well as engage in pre-law preparation and law school readiness sessions. Extended learning and cultural excursions are offered each week to deepen and broaden students’ understanding of how culture shapes law.
Top 3 Reasons to Participate in a Lex Program
- Relevant Pre-Law Summer Study Abroad: Lex is the only program tailored to U.S. pre-law students. It allows you to combine a trip abroad with realistic law firm experience that is relevant to the U.S. pre-law path.
- Understand the Life of a Lawyer: In Lex’s “Law Immersion” model, you will rotate to different law firms, gaining experience with diverse cases, fields, and lawyers. While doing this, you will be guided by a legal associate local to your host country.
- Stand Out on Law School Applications: Lex helps you to stand out on your resume by showing a unique legal experience, which is more impactful than most extracurriculars and gives you time to focus on GPA during your semesters.
