General Closing Information

  • Remember to take your bicycle with you when you leave. Abandoned bicycles will be removed.
  • All trash must be removed and taken to the designated trash sites. Ask your RA for the location of the designated site in your area. There will be a charge for trash left in rooms, suites, or common areas.
  • You are responsible for removing discarded furniture and carpet from campus. These items may not be thrown in the dumpsters. Failure to cooperate with removal of these items from campus will result in a $50 hauling fee per item charged to the owner.

Check-Out Procedure

  • Sign up for a 15-minute check-out meeting with your RA/CM at least 48 hours prior to when you wish to checkout. A sign-up sheet and/or instructions for signing up will be posted on your RA or CM’s door for you to reserve your appointment.
  • The purpose of the 15-minute check-out meeting is to ensure each resident has what they need to complete their move-out and the check-out checklist.
  • Please remove all personal belongings from your room prior to check-out time.
  • Please return all furniture to its original position (There is a $25.00 charge to re-assemble or move furniture).
  • Please remove posters, tape/decals and residue, nails, hooks, etc. from walls, windows and mirrors.
  • Please clean your room and/or apartment thoroughly. Clean refrigerator and stove and other appliances in the apartment if applicable.
  • Please remove trash and sweep/vacuum the floor. Common areas must be cleaned each time a member of the living unit checks out, otherwise cleaning charges will apply - regardless of who is responsible for clean-up.
  • Please set the air conditioning to 72 degrees and keep your blinds open when you leave. Failure to set the AC unit to the indicated temperature may lead to dampness in the room.
  • At the Holly M service desk, turn in your room key(s) and any temporary access cards or keys you have checked out.
  • After 8 p.m. residents can check-out using the express envelope check-out method (envelopes will be available next to the drop box outside of Holly M). Place your keys inside, fill out the required information on the envelope and drop your envelope in the key drop box.
